My Cancer Journey

Well it was raining last night so we never got the bikes out but we did do the stairs all 5 flights 3 times. Up a flight then across the hall and up the next one and then down consists of once. Did the Homewood stairs this morning and will be doing them again tonight when I pick up the boss from work.

Another mile stone tomorrow......19 months without a cigarette for both Sandy and I.

Wish we had done this a long time ago. I sure had one hell of an incentive.

Well Sandy and I finally got back on the road with our bikes. I tried to put some air in my bike tires as they were flat and the tube blew taking the tire with it. Was a pretty good sized bang when it blew. So off to the store to get a new bike instead of fixing the old one.

We have been riding for 3 nights now and getting a good bit of exercise. Hope that will drop off a few pounds before the winter sets in.

Well Saturday's loto 649 ticket was a bust, so guess it is back to work on Monday.

Had a nice weekend touring around the Province with the boss.

Going to get tickets to see ABBA Mania up at Georgian Downs in November, should be an interesting show. They have a good dinner planned as well.

Well I had a look at my 649 ticket today and won $10.00 bucks on the regular numbers and $5.00 on the encore and a free ticket on the same ticket. Had the first 2 numbers and the last 2 but alas, I did not have the middle 3 and the big one still has not happened yet and we are still waiting for that one. Oh well we will take what we can get.

Well it's hump day and all is well today. We are still going full time at work and waiting for our next appointment in Hamilton in September on the 4th and results on the 9th.

Well folks it is Monday and back to work, I hope everyone has a great week. So far we are doing great and managing to keep up to things here in the hospital information services department.

My GP has put me on a testing for Hemoccult. It is a test for early indication of colorectal cancer. Guess I am getting prodded in more ways than one.

Also my ( Working ) boss's birthday today so going to have a little party for him this afternoon.

Ah the weekend is just about apon us. I went in late to work today and will be staying late as the boss needs an image created from his computer system and I need to get that done while he is away. Also our cafeteria system has not had an image done to it for a while so will get that done as well. So will have dinner with the boss (Sandy) as she is working today till 11:00 PM.

Ahh Hump day great to be alive and looking forward to another day.

Well folks, it is Monday and we are back at the office and back to work. Was a quiet weekend, the boss (Sandy) and I did some traveling around the province in the rain. Was informed last week that I have to go back to Hamilton for more blood work and a full chest and abdoman CTScan on the 4th of September and another appointment with the doctor on the 9th. I hate waiting for results.

Ah the end of another week. It seems to have gone by rather quickly.

Got a call the other day that I have to go back to the Juravinski Cancer Centre for another CTScan on the 4th of Sept, really looking forward to that,

NOT !!!

Wish they would give you the results right away but have to wait till the 9th for that. Oh well all part of the process. I hope everyone has a great weekend.
